SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Mark Schomaker of Aviston, who passed 
4away on December 20, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark Schomaker was born to Alphonse and Margaret 
6Schomaker on November 24, 1958; he attended St. Jude School in 
7Aviston and Carlyle High School; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mark Schomaker worked in the production 
9department at Community Link in Breese for over 40 years; he 
10was known as the "Mayor of Community Link"; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Mark Schomaker was a member of Saint Francis 
12Church in Aviston and St. Bernard's Church in Albers; he was a 
13devout Catholic and frequently attended daily mass; he was a 
14member of the Albers Jaycees, and he was a 4th Degree member of 
15the Knights of Columbus; he was an avid Cubs fan and recently 
16became a Mascoutah Indian's basketball fan; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Mark Schomaker was preceded in death by his 
18parents; his sister-in-law, Dawn Schomaker; and his friends 
19who became his family at the Aviston CILA, David, Diana, Sean, 
20Erik, and Mallory; and

1    WHEREAS, Mark Schomaker is survived by his siblings, Mary 
2(Joe) Collins, Cathy (Joe) Riebold, Steve (Debbie Schomaker), 
3Rex (Judy) Schomaker, Rita (Jitty) Winkeler, and Isi 
4Schomaker, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and 
5great-nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
8Mark Schomaker and extend our sincere condolences to his 
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the family of Mark Schomaker as an expression of 
13our deepest sympathy.
