| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Robert Hugh Hogan of Taylorville, who |
| 4 | | passed away on February 29, 2024; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Hogan was born in Girard to Wiliam Alfred |
| 6 | | and Margaret Marie (Ferguson) Hogan on May 24, 1933; he |
| 7 | | graduated from Kincaid High School; he married Janet Sciarini |
| 8 | | on December 16, 1960; and |
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Robert Hogan previously worked for Sangamo |
| 10 | | Electric, the Illinois Department of Conservation, Taylorville |
| 11 | | Public Schools, and the Taylorville Park District; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Robert Hogan pitched for many fast pitch softball |
| 13 | | teams around the area for many years; he also played in the |
| 14 | | semi-pros; he especially loved playing at the Jeisyville ball |
| 15 | | diamond; he was inducted into the American Softball |
| 16 | | Association Illinois Softball Hall of Fame in 2021; he was an |
| 17 | | avid fan of the New York Yankees; he was a member of St. Mary's |
| 18 | | Catholic Church; and |
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Robert Hogan was preceded in death by his wife, |
| 20 | | Janet; his parents; his siblings, William Hogan, Joseph Hogan, |
| 21 | | Edward Hogan, Molly Hogan, Paul Morgan, Bernard Morgan, |

| 1 | | Michael Hogan, and John Hogan; and his nieces, Mikey Tappert |

| 3 | | WHEREAS, Robert Hogan is survived by his children, Marta |
| 4 | | (Jerry) Banks, Cindy Sedlacek, Robert (Pam) Hogan, Peggy |
| 5 | | (Mark) Hoffmeister, and William Hogan (Tracy Mills); his |
| 6 | | grandchildren, Joee Johnson, Sara Salisbury, Kristina Coleman, |
| 7 | | Kedra Emmerling, Aaron Hogan, and Holly Vickery; his |
| 8 | | great-grandchildren, Jack Nimmo, Kate Vickery, Jolee Johnson, |
| 9 | | Bailey Johnson, Lucas Salisbury, Maci Salisbury, Emilie Eson, |
| 10 | | Josh Coleman, and James Coleman; his great-grandson, Pierce |
| 11 | | Hogan; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, |

| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
| 14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 15 | | Robert Hugh Hogan and extend our sincere condolences to his |
| 16 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 17 | | further |
| 18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 19 | | presented to the family of Robert Hogan an expression of our |
| 20 | | deepest sympathy. |
