SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Keith E. Myers of Springfield, who passed away on March 6, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Keith Myers was born to Robert L. and Sandy K. Gilbert Myers in Springfield on March 31, 1971; he graduated from Riverton High School in 1990; and

WHEREAS, Keith Myers began his culinary career at Maverick Family Steakhouse, where he worked for over 25 years; he served as the food and beverage director at Brenden Gardens for the past 12 years, dedicating himself to caring for the residents; and

WHEREAS, Keith Myers had a strong passion for all sports, including football, baseball, and golf; he was an avid Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago White Sox, and Fighting Illini fan; he was devoted to his son, Wesley, and he strove to attend as many of his son's football games as possible; and

WHEREAS, Keith Myers was an extremely hardworking, dedicated, and loyal man with a heart of gold; he will be remembered for his smile and his amazing sense of humor; and

WHEREAS, Keith Myers was preceded in death by his father; his paternal grandparents, James Myers and Ethel Myers; his maternal grandparents, Henry Gilbert and Margaret Gilbert; and several cousins; and

WHEREAS, Keith Myers is survived by his mother; his son, Wesley Myers; his stepson, Christopher Pettit; his brothers, Robert (Mary Beth) Myers and Mark (Jackie) Myers; his sister, Dr. Kris Myers; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Keith E. Myers and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Keith Myers as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
