| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of John Ernest "Red" Moore of Jackson, |
| 4 | | Mississippi, who passed away on October 27, 2023; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, John Moore was born in Yazoo County, Mississippi |
| 6 | | on February 24, 1950, and he was the sixth child of Rosetta |
| 7 | | Bell Moore; he received his formal education in the Jackson |
| 8 | | Public School System and graduated from Brinkley High School; |
| 9 | | and |
| 10 | | WHEREAS, John Moore moved to Chicago, where he worked at |
| 11 | | Sears Roebuck for many years; after moving back to |
| 12 | | Mississippi, he worked in construction with his brother |
| 13 | | Johnny, retiring in 2015; he enjoyed working in the |
| 14 | | construction industry and the fellowship he shared with the |
| 15 | | other workers; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, John Moore took great pleasure working in his |
| 17 | | front yard; after mowing, raking, and planting flowers, he |
| 18 | | enjoyed sitting in his yard to appreciate the fruits of his |
| 19 | | labor; he was often found sitting on the front porch, talking |
| 20 | | with friends in the yard, or taking a quick nap; and |
| 21 | | WHEREAS, John Moore was a man of strong faith, and he |
