| 2 | | WHEREAS, Mother's Day is celebrated nationally on Sunday, |
| 3 | | May 12, 2024; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Every mother wants her child to succeed; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, A child's parents are the foremost authority in |
| 6 | | the needs of the child; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Every day, mothers and grandmothers stand up for |
| 8 | | the rights of their children and advocate for their needs; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Many of these parents and grandparents visit |
| 10 | | Springfield to advocate on behalf of legislation that supports |
| 11 | | their children's rights; therefore, be it
|
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
| 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we declare May 8, 2024 |
| 14 | | as Moms on a Mission Day in the State of Illinois to honor |
| 15 | | mothers, grandmothers, fathers, and their families who stand |
| 16 | | up for children's rights; and be it further

| 17 | | RESOLVED, That we welcome the mothers, grandmothers, |
| 18 | | fathers, and their families at the Illinois State Capitol on |
| 19 | | May 8, 2024, particularly those who are here for the first |
