SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Francis R. "Frank" Adlfinger of Milan, 
4who passed away on May 11, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frank Adlfinger was born in Rock Island to Harry 
6and Mary Kimball on October 6, 1933; he graduated from the 
7second graduating class at Alleman High School in 1951; he 
8earned his bachelor's degree from St. Ambrose University in 
9Davenport, Iowa; he served in the U.S. Navy; he married Nancy 
10Carr at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Davenport on January 27, 
111962; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Frank Adlfinger worked as an electrical engineer 
13for both AMETEK and the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1992; 
14he then happily spent the next 32 years working alongside his 
15son, Matt, at Adlfinger Landscaping; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Frank Adlfinger was a member of St. Pius X 
17Catholic Church in Rock Island; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Frank Adlfinger was preceded in death by his 
19parents; his sister, Gerry Padakis; and his brother, Vern 
20Adlfinger; and

1    WHEREAS, Frank Adlfinger is survived by his wife, Nancy 
2Adlfinger; his children, Tom (Kim) Adlfinger, Matt (Doreen) 
3Adlfinger, Anne (Brad) Thilges, Paul Adlfinger, and Katherine 
4Moens; his grandchildren, Mary (Ty) Balduf, Ethan (Emily) 
5Adlfinger, Lucy Adlfinger, Peter Moens, David Moens, and Jon 
6Moens; his great-grandchildren, Sadie Balduf and William 
7Adlfinger; and his sister, Joan Freed; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
10Francis R. "Frank" Adlfinger and extend our sincere 
11condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
12him; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to the family of Frank Adlfinger as an expression of 
15our deepest sympathy.
