SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of John Carmen Stahl of Silvis, who 
4passed away on May 18, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Stahl was born to Hazel Small and Roy Stahl 
6on October 19, 1942; he graduated from high school and then 
7served in the U.S. Army for two years; he married Sherri 
8Mathahs on July 19, 1993; and
 
9    WHEREAS, John Stahl worked for John Deere Harvester East 
10Moline, retiring after 30 years of service; and
 
11    WHEREAS, John Stahl enjoyed watching old Western movies 
12and NASCAR, hunting, fishing, and gardening; he loved his pets 
13and took great pride in his 2016 Chevy Silverado truck; and
 
14    WHEREAS, John Stahl was preceded in death by his parents; 
15his brother, David; his sisters, Virginia and Joan; and his 
16pets, Boots, Misty, Dei Dei, Sissy Jo, Lil Bit, Hank, and 
17Aerosmith; and
 
18    WHEREAS, John Stahl is survived by his wife; his siblings, 
19Joyce Saelens, Mary Huggins, Carolyn (Robert) Boss, Allen 
20(Kathleen) Stahl, Patti (Larry) Swanson, and Pamela (Russell)

1Tholen; and his pets, Phoebe and Tiger; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4John Carmen Stahl and extend our sincere condolences to his 
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of John Stahl as an expression of our 
9deepest sympathy.
