SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Glen Bote of Milan, who passed away on
4June 8, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Glen Bote was born to Newell Bote and Alberta
6(Eldridge) Bote in Harper, Iowa on October 12, 1936; he
7enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1953, serving for eight
8years; he married Judy Avery Bote in 1974; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Glen Bote worked for the Rock Island Police
10Department for 23 years, retiring as captain and director of
11operations in 1983; he then worked as area security manager of
12Tyson for 18 years, retiring in 2003; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Glen Bote loved bowling and was a lifelong St.
14Louis Cardinals fan; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Glen Bote enjoyed spending time with his children
16and grandchildren, coaching their baseball teams and never
17missing a sporting event or dance recital; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Glen Bote was preceded in death by his parents,
19his sister, and his brother; and

1    WHEREAS, Glen Bote is survived by his wife of 49 and a half
2years, Judy; his children, Glen Bote Jr., Kathy Scarberry,
3Garth Bote, Cami (Jason) Ill, and Cory Bote; his
4granddaughters, Emma Ill, Molly Ill, and Vivienne Bote; his
5sisters, Nancy Westbo and Kelly (Steve) Rylander; and his
6extended family members, Diana Morris, Dick Morris, and Donna
7Boggs; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Glen Bote and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
11friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Glen Bote as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
