SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Leonard A. Freeman of Havana on June
46, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman was born to William and Arnell
6(Newsome) Freeman in Batesville, Arkansas on December 17,
71947; he joined the U.S. Army in 1967, serving for nine years;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman worked for Fornoff Fertilizer for
1010 years, and he also worked for Walker Forge; he retired from
11Hinkles & McCoy in Decatur; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman was a member of VFW Post #6408 in
13Havana and Local 51 IBEW in Springfield; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman enjoyed hunting and fishing; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman was an amazing father and
16grandfather; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman was preceded in death by his
18parents and his sister, Sue Richardson; and

1    WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman is survived by his longtime
2girlfriend, Nadine Owens; his daughter, Dawn (Jeremy)
3Showalter; his stepson, Mike (Lisa) Belanger; his
4grandchildren, Kelsey Mibbs, Levi Mibbs, Jaclyn Mibbs, Jalee
5Anderson, Hannah Belanger, Kourtney Showalter, and Kylee
6Showalter; his great-grandchildren, Payton Smith and Karter
7Showalter; his siblings, Patricia (Aaron) Wilcoxen, Donna
8(Lee) DeBolt, and Jim (Vivian) Freeman; and several nieces and
9nephews; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Leonard A. Freeman and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Leonard Freeman as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
