SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Jerry L. Norris of Mason City, who
4passed away on June 19, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Norris was born to Hubert Woodrow Norris
6and Rachel Pauline (Martin) Norris in Greensburg, Kentucky on
7May 14, 1950; he attended schools in Mason City, graduating in
81968; he served in the U.S. Army, which included a 15-month
9tour in Vietnam; he married Sue Anderson on July 2, 1978; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jerry Norris was employed by Caterpillar Tractor
11Company for 30 years; in addition, he and his wife, Sue,
12traveled with his woodworking business for over 30 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jerry Norris was dedicated to helping the youth,
14coaching many Pony League baseball teams and serving as a
15mentor of an Eagle Scout; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Jerry Norris was an avid golfer and a fan of the
17St. Louis Cardinals; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Jerry Norris was preceded in death by his
19parents; his sister, Doris Jean Lipp; and his nephew, Danny
20Lipp; and

1    WHEREAS, Jerry Norris is survived by his wife; his
2sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mike and Trisha Culbertson;
3his nephew, Clayton Culbertson; and several other nieces and
4nephews; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Jerry L. Norris and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Jerry Norris as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
