SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Robert "Bob" Gardner of Cuba, who
4passed away on June 14, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Gardner was born to John and Jessie (Gilmore)
6Gardner in Canton on April 30, 1945; he married Brenda Selph in
7Lewistown on November 21, 1963; he served in the U.S. Marine
8Corps; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bob Gardner worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company
10from 1967 to 2000; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bob Gardner was a member of the Cuba American
12Legion; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bob Gardner had a passion for vintage cars and
14enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels cars; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Bob Gardner is survived by his wife of 60 years,
16Brenda; his children, Penny (Adam) Gerard, Bob (Mary) Gardner
17Jr., and Carrie (Tim) Archdale; his grandchildren, Elizabeth
18(Chris) Monckton, Sarah (David) Hertzner, Kacie (Scott)
19Shaeffer, Kelsey (Brandon) Kinney, Nick (Christy) Lafary,
20Dylan Gardner, and Daniel (Kennedy) Gardner; 14

1great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Harold Gardner and
2Kenny Gardner; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Robert "Bob" Gardner and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Bob Gardner as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
