SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Gene A. Churchill of Canton, who 
4passed away on June 16, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gene Churchill was born to Russell and Elsie 
6(Putman) Churchill in Canton on August 2, 1941; he served in 
7the U.S. Marine Corps; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Gene Churchill worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. 
9for 43 years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Gene Churchill was a member of the Masonic Lodge 
11and Canton Elks Lodge #626; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Gene Churchill enjoyed hunting, fishing, drinking 
13his morning coffee at the lake house with his children, 
14attending his grandchildren's events, and spending time with 
15his family; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Gene Churchill was preceded in death by his 
17parents and his brother, Kenneth Churchill; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Gene Churchill is survived by the mother of his 
19children, Elizabeth; his children, Marc (Kathy) Churchill and

1Jyl Barnard; his grandchildren, Harley Jo, Cloe (Fiance, Noah 
2Kesselmayer), Jacob, and Jackson; his brother, Steve; and his 
3significant other of 35 years, Ruth McCoy; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Gene A. Churchill and extend our sincere condolences to his 
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of Gene Churchill as an expression of 
11our deepest sympathy.
