SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Harold E. Berry of Chandler, Arizona
4and Canton, Illinois, who passed away on July 6, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Harold Berry was born to Hobert and Anna (Toben)
6Berry in Canton on June 18, 1933; he married Bonnie Seward in
7Texas on June 30, 1953; he served in the U.S. Air Force during
8the Korean Conflict, reaching the rank of staff sergeant and
9receiving the National Defense Service Medal; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Harold Berry retired as a machinist from
11Honeywell in 1990; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Harold Berry was a member of Canton Elks Lodge
13#626, the Canton VFW, the Canton American Legion, and the U.S.
14Power Squadron; he also enjoyed golfing; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Harold Berry was preceded in death by his son,
16James Berry; his sister, Joann Fouts; two half brothers; and
17two half sisters; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Harold Berry is survived by his wife of 71 years,
19Bonnie (Seward) Berry; his children, Jack Berry, Nancy (Bruce)
20Knapp, and Beth (Joe) Fierro; his brothers, Albert Berry and

1John Berry; his grandchildren, Christine, Douglas, James,
2Christopher, Joshua, Jonathan, Rachel, Alex, Rae, and Valerie;
3and 11 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Harold E. Berry and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Harold Berry as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
