| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Sandra Chimon Rogers, Ph.D., who |
| 4 | | passed away on June 24, 2024; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Rogers was born on September 8, 1973; she |
| 6 | | graduated from Lockport Township High School, where she |
| 7 | | participated in the marching band; she earned her Ph.D. in |
| 8 | | Analytical Chemistry from the University of Illinois Chicago; |
| 9 | | she and her family resided in Homer Glen; and |
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Rogers worked as dean of the College of |
| 11 | | Professional Studies at the National University of Health |
| 12 | | Sciences (NUHS); she dedicated her career to advancing |
| 13 | | education, fostering innovation, mentoring colleagues, and |
| 14 | | nurturing future healthcare professionals; her work in |
| 15 | | bioanalytical nuclear neurochemistry, especially on |
| 16 | | Alzheimer's disease prevention, including collaborations with |
| 17 | | NASA, and her leadership roles at prestigious institutions |
| 18 | | like the University of Illinois and DePaul University |
| 19 | | highlighted her exceptional commitment to science, education, |
| 20 | | and people; and |
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Rogers served on the board of directors of |
| 22 | | the Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges |
