SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Karly Michelle Wetherell of
4Stewardson, who passed away on July 10, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Karly Wetherell was born in Effingham to Luke
6Joshua and Lauren Michelle (Wildman) Wetherell on July 28,
72010; she attended Stewardson-Strasburg High School, where she
8was on the honor roll and a member of the student council; she
9was also a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Strasburg
10and the Strasburg Tailtwisters 4-H Club; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Karly Wetherell enjoyed doing her hair, shopping
12with the girls, joking with her brothers, playing sports,
13especially volleyball with her club, Rapid Fire, and above all
14spending time with her friends and family; she was fun loving,
15smart, witty, and always the life of the party; she was her
16mom's best friend and her dad's best girl; she never met a
17stranger and could talk for hours; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Karly Wetherell was known for her smile, her
19laugh, her long thick hair that got frizzy when she would
20sweat, her sportsmanship, her enthusiastic cheering at games,
21and the brightness she brought to all those around her; her
22kind heart and easy-going nature made her a friend to so many;

1her dream was to play volleyball at the University of Texas;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Karly Wetherell was preceded in death by her
4grandpa, Mark Wildman; her uncle, Micah Wetherell; her
5great-grandpa, Freeman Wildman; her great-grandma, Marilyn
6Foelsing; her great-grandparents, Bud and Vi Wetherell; her
7great-aunt, Tara Reed; and her great-uncles, Duane Wetherell,
8Charlie Decker, and Larry Jacobs; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Karly Wetherell is survived by her parents; her
10brothers, Tyler, Dylan, and Wyatt Wetherell; her grandparents,
11Jeanne Wildman, and Don and Tammy Wetherell; her
12great-grandparents, Delbert Foelsing, Lucille Wildman, and
13Larry and Karen Reed; her aunts and uncles, Nicole and Richard
14Clapp, Alecia and Colton Booher, Shalyn and Jacob Tabbert, and
15Philip and Katherine Wetherell; and her cousins, Maverick,
16Rhen, Riggs, and Hayes Clapp, Weston, Lennon, and Liam Booher,
17Blakely and Beau Tabbert, and Bentley, Mason, Harper, and
18Jensen Wetherell; therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
21Karly Michelle Wetherell and extend our sincere condolences to
22her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
