SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of David Dale Chambers of Macomb, who
4passed away on June 15, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, David Chambers was born to Dale Franklin and
6Jesse M. (Browning) Chambers in Canton on February 11, 1935;
7he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; he earned a
8degree in engineering from the University of Illinois; he
9married Janet Hammond on January 18, 1954, and she preceded
10him in death on December 7, 2019; and
 
11    WHEREAS, David Chambers began his working career with
12Collins Radio in Marion, Iowa, and he later worked for the
13Diebold Safe Company in North Canton, Ohio; he lastly owned
14and operated Prairieland Service Store and Prairieland Rental
15in Macomb from 1975 to 1999; after his retirement, he and his
16daughter opened Prairie Trader; and
 
17    WHEREAS, David Chambers enjoyed spending time outdoors and
18traveling with his wife by RV throughout the country; when his
19children were younger, he enjoyed taking them hunting,
20camping, fishing, and boating on the Mississippi River; and
 
21    WHEREAS, David Chambers was preceded in death by his

1siblings, Richard Chambers and Patricia Parkins; and
 
2    WHEREAS, David Chambers is survived by his children, Brad
3(Kathy) Chambers, Linc Chambers, Darren (Kathy) Chambers,
4Christopher (Vicky) Chambers, and Rachel (Benn) Liechti; six
5grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law,
6Judy Chambers; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9David Dale Chambers and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of David Chambers as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
