SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Richard E. "Dick" Lynch of Canton, who
4passed away on July 11, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dick Lynch was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to
6Thomas E. and Doris (Fraikes) Lyncon on September 25, 1937; he
7graduated from Canton High School in 1955 and attended Bowling
8Green State University on a baseball scholarship; he served in
9the United States Marines from November 28, 1956 to August 4,
101959; he married Scheralyn Duffield at First Baptist Church in
11Canton on April 21, 1962; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dick Lynch was employed by Household Finance in
13Waukegan and later by the Caterpillar Tractor Company for 33
14years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Dick Lynch worked with the Junior Achievement
16program; he was a member of Morning Star Lodge 734 for 30
17years, Scottish Rite Valley of Peoria, and the Mohammed Temple
18Shrine in Peoria; he enjoyed fishing and watching sports; he
19had a fantastic memory for details and history; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Dick Lynch was preceded in death by his wife,
21Scheralyn; his parents; and his sister, Susan B. Lynch; and

1    WHEREAS, Dick Lynch is survived by his son, Robin Lynch;
2his sister, June (late Kenneth) Bath; and his nephews, Tom
3(Sheila) and Jack "Jay" Bath (Christine Kruse); therefore, be
4it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Richard E. "Dick" Lynch and extend our sincere condolences to
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Dick Lynch as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
