SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Claude William "Dino" Senecal of South Pekin, who passed away on July 8, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Dino Senecal was born to Claude William Perron and Ruth Dorothy (Stevenson) Perron in Leominster, Massachusetts on April 17, 1953; he was raised by his foster parents, Henri and Lillian (Nishan) Lavallee; he graduated from Auburn High School in Auburn, Massachusetts in 1971; and

WHEREAS, Dino Senecal served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam; he then served in the U.S. Navy until retirement; and

WHEREAS, Dino Senecal enjoyed tinkering with electronics, helping his family with difficult projects, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Dino Senecal was known for his sense of humor; he will be remembered for his kindness, his generosity, and his willingness to help those in need; and

WHEREAS, Dino Senecal was preceded in death by his parents; his foster parents; his siblings, Wilfred Perron, Phyllis Guilmette, and Christine McCormick; and his dog, Lily; and

WHEREAS, Dino Senecal is survived by his daughter, Ann (Jim) Jurrians; his sons, Scott (Amanda) Senecal and Patrick (Lindsey) Senecal; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, with one on the way; his sisters, Jeraldine Collado, Wanda (Mark) Kulavic, Ann Fish, Ruth Marble, Michele (John) Simonueau, and Loda (Bruce) Whittredge; and his former spouses and the mothers of his children, Mila Senecal and Marlene Davidson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Claude William "Dino" Senecal and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dino Senecal as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
