| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Angel Duran Arias of Joliet, who |
| 4 | | passed away on July 29, 2024; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Angel Arias was born to Rafael and Angelina Arias |
| 6 | | in Moroleon, Guanajuato, Mexico on April 1, 1955; he emigrated |
| 7 | | to the United States in 1969, and he began working in the |
| 8 | | produce fields of Southern California that same year; he |
| 9 | | married Virginia Refugio on December 29, 1978, and they |
| 10 | | settled and established their family in Joliet; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Angel Arias possessed an exemplary work ethic |
| 12 | | that followed him through various employers, including the GAF |
| 13 | | Materials Corporation, McKesson, and Hollywood Casino, from |
| 14 | | which he retired in 2021; he also co-owned La Heradura de |
| 15 | | Joliet with his uncles for some time; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Angel Arias was an active member of the Lienzo |
| 17 | | Charro Los Nortenos de Joliet in his early adult life; and |
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Angel Arias was an avid reader and enjoyed |
| 19 | | spending time with his family; and |
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Angel Arias was known for his big heart and his |
