SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Alfred H. "Ted" Holloway of Rock 
4Island, who passed away on July 18, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ted Holloway was born in Galesburg to Wilbur 
6Townsend Holloway and Mildred (Hughs) Holloway on September 
716, 1933; he served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War; 
8he married Dian (Thornburg) Miller in Davenport, Iowa on March 
93, 1972; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Ted Holloway worked for more than 40 years as a 
11bricklayer and retired on September 30, 1994 from Schott & 
12Welch Masonry; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ted Holloway was a member of BAC Local 8 of 
14Illinois; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Ted Holloway is survived by his wife, Dian; his 
16daughter, Laura (Marty) McManus; his grandchildren, Daniel 
17Pierson (Lauren), Sydney (Jeff) Gauley, and Kyle McManus 
18(Katie); his great-grandchildren, Pepper Pierson, Jack 
19Pierson, Kane Bush, Rhys Gauley, and Harlow Gauley; numerous 
20nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved dog, "BJ";

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Alfred H. "Ted" Holloway and extend our sincere condolences to 
4his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Ted Holloway as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
