SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Thomas E. "Tom" Hauman of Rock Island,
4who passed away on July 12, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tom Hauman was born in Rock Island to Emil and
6Marie (Ballien) Hauman on September 23, 1930; he served in the
7U.S. Army; he married Gertrud Schmitt in Heidelberg, Germany
8on July 24, 1952; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Tom Hauman retired as manager of the Bowladrome
10in Rock Island, where he started working when he was 14 years
11old; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Tom Hauman's smile lit up every room; he was a
13selfless man and always helped his neighbors, friends, and
14family; he enjoyed a cold beer after a long day of working in
15his yard or by the fire pit with his neighbors; he received the
16City of Rock Island's Beautification Award for his yard work
17at his home; he was a member of VFW Post 1303; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Tom Hauman was preceded in death by his parents;
19his wife, Gertrud; his daughter-in-law, Laurie Hauman; and his
20brothers, Robert and Edward Hauman; and

1    WHEREAS, Tom Hauman is survived by his children, Steven
2Hauman and Diana "Dena" Hauman; his grandchildren, Jennifer
3(Todd) Meggos, Kimberly (Jonathan) Kelecius, and Fletcher
4Nebrick; and his great-grandchildren, Madeline, Olivia, and
5Avery; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Thomas E. "Tom" Hauman and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Tom Hauman as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
