SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Marvin Leroy Hare of Rock Island, who 
4passed away on July 23, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marvin Hare, the son of Delwin and Twilla (Smith) 
6Hare, was born in Galesburg on January 8, 1949; he attended 
7Galesburg High School; he earned a degree in criminal justice 
8from Carl Sandburg College; he served in the U.S. Army with the 
94th Infantry Division in Vietnam; he married Elaine Mesey in 
10Galesburg on June 7, 1968; he later married Stacey Wilson on 
11February 22, 2024; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Marvin Hare was employed with the Rock Island 
13Arsenal Police Department for 30 years; he previously worked 
14at the Steak 'n Shake in Galesburg for 20 years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Marvin Hare was a member of Milan American Legion 
16Post 569 and the Rock Island Boat Club; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Marvin Hare loved fishing, visiting with family 
18and friends, and watching westerns, including Walker, Texas 
19Ranger; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Marvin Hare was preceded in death by his first

1wife, Elaine, and his father; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Marvin Hare is survived by his wife, Stacey Hare; 
3his mother, Twilla Ferry; his siblings, Elaine Shane, Debbie 
4(Wayne) Porch, and Glen (Valerie) Ferry; several nieces and 
5nephews; and his best friend, Danny Erenst; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
8Marvin Leroy Hare and extend our sincere condolences to his 
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the family of Marvin Hare as an expression of our 
13deepest sympathy.
