SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of James "Jim" Mosby of Elgin, who passed
4away on August 7, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jim Mosby was born to Preston and Amelia (Kleker)
6Mosby in Chicago on February 20, 1938; he served in the U.S.
7Coast Guard from 1956 to 1958 before being honorably
8discharged; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Jim Mosby worked as an electrical engineer until
10his retirement; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jim Mosby volunteered at Amvets Lee Barrett
12Memorial Post 202, American Legion Post 57, and the Nature's
13Villa Campground; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Jim Mosby was quite the jokester; he loved
15golfing, including riding on his golf cart, and cheering for
16his favorite team, the Chicago Cubs; he often enjoyed simply
17sitting in his rocking chair on the porch; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Jim Mosby was preceded in death by his parents;
19his brother, John "Jack" Preston Mosby; and his stepdaughter,
20Wendy Jones Reinberger; and

1    WHEREAS, Jim Mosby is survived by his wife of 20 years,
2Lynda Mosby; his daughters, Michelle Mosby, Adrienne (David)
3Bansemer, and Sarabeth Mayes; six grandchildren; and ten
4great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7James "Jim" Mosby and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of James Mosby an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
