SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of David De Wayne "Dave" Armstrong of
4East Peoria, who passed away on August 8, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, David Armstrong was born to Remus and Fern
6(Keltner) Armstrong in Peoria on June 23, 1948; he served in
7the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; he married Carla Louise
8Weber in Peoria on August 20, 1972; and
 
9    WHEREAS, David Armstrong was a full-time baker at Carl's
10Bakery in East Peoria; he retired from the City of East Peoria
11in 2000, after 32 years of service as a foreman over public
12works; and
 
13    WHEREAS, David Armstrong was a retired member of Teamster &
14 Chauffeurs Union Local 627 in Peoria, and he was a member of
15Eastside Bible Church in Morton; and
 
16    WHEREAS, David Armstrong enjoyed serving the public and
17took great pride in his work with the community, especially
18his involvement with the Festival of Lights; he enjoyed
19horticulture, being outdoors, landscaping, fishing, and
20tending to his flowers and had a special love for dogs; and

1    WHEREAS, David Armstrong was a beloved husband, father,
2and grandfather who lived his life serving others; and
 
3    WHEREAS, David Armstrong was preceded in death by his
4parents; his daughter, Sarah Louise Tabor; his grandson, Jacob
5Clauson; and his brothers, Roland Armstrong, Robert Armstrong,
6and Jerry Armstrong; and
 
7    WHEREAS, David Armstrong is survived by his wife; his
8daughter, Joy (Robert) Clauson; four grandchildren, Samantha
9Tabor, Rachel Clauson, Ryan Clauson, and Jack Clauson; his
10twin brother, Donald Armstrong; his sister, Jacqueline (Gary)
11Kipper; his son-in-law, Douglas Tabor; and many nieces and
12nephews; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15David De Wayne "Dave" Armstrong and extend our sincere
16condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
17him; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of David Armstrong as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
