SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Tanilo H. Sandoval of East Moline, who
4passed away on August 19, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tanilo Sandoval, the son of Eduvigues and
6Angelina Hernandez Sandoval, was born in Box Car #3 in the
7Silvis Yards, Silvis on April 2, 1926; he served in the U.S.
8Army during World War II; he married Connie Segura at the "old"
9Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Silvis on June 26, 1948; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Tanilo Sandoval retired from John Deere Harvester
11East Moline in 1983 after 38 years of service; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Tanilo Sandoval was an unofficial ambassador of
13Hero Street, the short street renamed for the eight young men
14who gave the ultimate sacrifice during World War II and the
15Korean Conflict; he had been raised on Hero Street and loved
16his family and the Hero Street family; he loved traveling; he
17visited many countries and rode across the U.S. by Greyhound
18bus connecting with relatives, friends, and classmates;
19playing in his younger years, he enjoyed sports, including
20watching professional teams, cheering for his United Township
21Panthers, and attending the sporting events of his children
22and grandchildren; and

1    WHEREAS, Tanilo Sandoval was preceded in death by his
2parents; his wife; his infant son, Kevin; and his siblings,
3Joseph Sandoval, Frank Sandoval, Santiago Sandoval, Ed
4(Theresa) Sandoval, Jennie (Charlie) Garcia, Georgia (Ray)
5Herrera, Mercedes Munos, Esperanza Vasquez, Emidio (Eloise)
6Sandoval, and Norbert Sandoval; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Tanilo Sandoval is survived by his children,
8Louis Sandoval, Stephen (Virginia) Sandoval, David Sandoval,
9Susan Sandoval, and Alan (Rhonda) Sandoval; his grandchildren,
10Craig (Emily) Sandoval, Brian Sandoval, Nicholas Sandoval,
11Jonathan (Nichole) Sandoval, and Matthew Sandoval; his
12great-grandson, Augie Tanilo Sandoval; three
13step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and many
14nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; therefore,
15be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Tanilo H. Sandoval and extend our sincere condolences to his
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Tanilo Sandoval as an expression of
