SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of David J. Celia of Peoria, who passed 
4away on August 23, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, David Celia was born to Donald and N. Jean 
6(Lawson) Celia in Joliet on May 14, 1951; he served in the U.S. 
7Army; and
 
8    WHEREAS, David Celia worked at and retired from 
9Caterpillar; and
 
10    WHEREAS, David Celia was a member of the Men's Bowling 
11Board and Farmington American Legion Post 140; and
 
12    WHEREAS, David Celia enjoyed fishing and bowling; and
 
13    WHEREAS, David Celia was preceded in death by his parents 
14and his brother, Randy Celia; and
 
15    WHEREAS, David Celia is survived by his children, Dustin 
16Celia and Josh (Khara) Celia; four grandchildren; his 
17brothers, Larry (Debbie) Celia, Russ (Mary) Celia, Eric 
18(Belinda) Celia, and John (Jennifer Lingenfelter) Celia; his 
19sister, Lynn Celia; his sister-in-law, Cheryl Celia; his

1significant other, Shelli Do; and several nieces and nephews; 
2therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5David J. Celia and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of David Celia as an expression of our 
10deepest sympathy.
