SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Terrance Randall "Terry" Bewley of
4Aledo, who passed away on August 21, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Terry Bewley, the son of Dick and Darlene Smith
6Bewley, was born in Aledo on June 5, 1952; he graduated from
7Aledo High School in 1970; he served in the U.S. Army National
8Guard from 1971 to 1977; he married Phyllis Sipes on August 11,
91972; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Terry Bewley previously worked for Burlington
11Northern Railroad and Deane Frye Construction, and he worked
12as a journeyman carpenter for Carpenters Local 166 with
13various contractors, primarily on Arsenal projects and with
14Friendship Manor; he started working for Aledo High School,
15later Mercer County High School, in 1997, and he took great
16pride in the football field, the softball diamond, and the
17beauty of the school grounds; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Terry Bewley served as an alderman of the City of
19Aledo for 12 years; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Terry Bewley was a member of the Aledo Masonic
21Lodge; he coached summer league baseball for many years; and

1    WHEREAS, Terry Bewley will be remembered for his quick wit
2and his infectious laugh; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Terry Bewley was preceded in death by his
4parents; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Terry Bewley is survived by his wife of 52 years,
6Phyllis Bewley; his children, Jesse (Marci) Bewley and Amanda
7(Bryan) Martyn; two grandchildren; and his brothers, Ronald
8(Jill) Bewley and Edward Bewley; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Terrance Randall "Terry" Bewley and extend our sincere
12condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
13him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Terry Bewley as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
