SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Stephanie G. Wood of Bolingbrook, who
4passed away on September 15, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood, the daughter of Fernando and
6Diane (Munoz) Esparza, was born in Oak Park on August 19, 1984;
7she received her undergraduate degree from DePaul University
8and her law degree from the John Marshall Law School, now known
9as the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood worked in graduate admissions at
11her alma mater, DePaul University, for the past six years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood was active in the martial art of
13Taekwondo for the majority of her life and had obtained her
14black belt; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood enjoyed playing board games,
16poker, and video games and exploring her creativity, including
17painting and building unique projects for her home; she adored
18all dogs but especially loved her two late dogs, Bree and
19Oscar; she loved being with her family and friends, including
20entertaining them at countless themed parties and arranging
21group vacations; and

1    WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood will be remembered for her
2sparkling heart, energy, generosity, and selflessness; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood was preceded in death by her
4grandparents, Fernando and Micaela Esparza and Eliseo and
5Rebecca Munoz; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood is survived by her husband of nine
7years, Danny; her brother, Tristan (Kristy) Esparza; her
8parents; her in-laws, Randy and Barb Wood; her sister-in-law,
9Allison (Artie) Taylor; her nieces and nephews; her uncle,
10Ruben; her aunts, Beatrice and Maria; and many other relatives
11and friends; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Stephanie G. Wood and extend our sincere condolences to her
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Stephanie Wood as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
