SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Angel Ross Purcell, who passed away on 
4September 14, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Angel Ross Purcell was born to Robert and 
6Catherine Ross in Chicago; she was a lifelong resident of the 
7Roseland community; she attended Kohn Elementary School and 
8graduated from Harlan High School in 1989; she attended 
9Olive-Harvey College for two years; she married her childhood 
10sweetheart, Curtis Purcell, on September 14, 2007; in her 
11final weeks of life, she had resided with her mother and her 
12sister, April, in Texas; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Angel Ross Purcell worked for American Girl, 
14where she served as a merchandise handler for the Department 
15of Operations for more than 25 years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Angel Ross Purcell committed to her faith at an 
17early age; she enjoyed spending time with her family and close 
18friends and was well-known for her love of Mickey and Minnie 
19Mouse; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Angel Ross Purcell is survived by her husband, 
21Curtis Purcell; her parents, Catherine Ross and Robert (Donna)

1Ross; her sisters, April (Terrance) Davis and Tracey (Maurice) 
2Render; her brother, Travis (Janetta) Ross; and a host of 
3aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends; 
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
7Angel Ross Purcell and extend our sincere condolences to her 
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Angel Ross Purcell as an expression 
12of our deepest sympathy.
