SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Lee E. Salmonson of East Moline, who 
4passed away on August 27, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lee Salmonson, the son of Fred and Elizabeth 
6Gerhardt Salmonson, was born in East Moline on November 12, 
71935; he graduated from United Township High School in 1953; 
8he served in the U.S. Army; he married Peggy S. Gooch Ogle in 
9Hampton on May 19, 2012; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Lee Salmonson worked as a machinist for John 
11Deere Harvester Works for 30 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Lee Salmonson was a member of Zion Lutheran 
13Church, East Moline; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lee Salmonson enjoyed traveling, golfing, and 
15wintering in Florida; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Lee Salmonson was preceded in death by his 
17parents and his siblings, Paul, Fred, Harold, Bill, Don, 
18Marvin, Reuben, and Alice; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Lee Salmonson is survived by his wife; his

1stepchildren, David (Cindy) Ogle and Susan (Chuck) Fiser; his 
2step-grandchildren, Tyler (Makenzie) Cornett, Alec Fiser, and 
3Andrew Fiser; his step-great-grandson, Myles Cornett; and many 
4nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
7Lee E. Salmonson and extend our sincere condolences to his 
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Lee Salmonson as an expression of 
12our deepest sympathy.
