SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Daniel J. "Dan" Hoffman of Milan, who 
4passed away on September 20, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dan Hoffman was born in Moline to Alvin and 
6Geraldine (DeFrates) Hoffman on November 25, 1953; he served 
7in the U.S. Army; he married Patricia Loring in Milan on May 
826, 1979; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dan Hoffman was a truck driver for YRC Trucking 
10Lines for 45 years, retiring in 2017; he was a member of 
11Teamsters Local No. 371 in Rock Island; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dan Hoffman was an active spirit; he enjoyed 
13running, bike rides, bowling, reading, and traveling with his 
14wife, Pat; he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and 
15brother; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dan Hoffman was preceded in death by his parents 
17and his siblings, Michael Hoffman, Rebecca Hoffman, and David 
18Hoffman; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Dan Hoffman is survived by his wife, Patricia; 
20his children, Kristine (Jason) Klingaman, Jennifer (Justin)

1Shackleford, Diane Cox, Ryan Daniel Hoffman, and Rebekah 
2Hoffman (Jason Bumgarner); his grandchildren, Jacob, Courtney, 
3Shayla, Alyssa, Nico, Tykel, Jamaree, and Quinci; his 
4great-grandchildren, Izaiah, Anthony, Rosie, Micah, Willow, 
5Parker, Noah, Kai, and Grace; and his brothers, James A. 
6Hoffman and Gerald (Teresa) Hoffman; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
9Daniel J. "Dan" Hoffman and extend our sincere condolences to 
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to the family of Dan Hoffman as an expression of our 
14deepest sympathy.
