SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Willie James Bowdry Jr., who passed
4away on September 26, 2004; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Willie Bowdry was born to Mary Lucille Starks
6Bowdry and Willie James Bowdry Sr. in Steele, Missouri on
7December 5, 1950; he graduated from Rock Island High School;
8he served in the U.S. Marine Corps; he married Virginia
9"Ginny" Tolefree on April 26, 2008; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Willie Bowdry worked for John Deere for over 35
11years, retiring in 2010; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Willie Bowdry will be remembered for his legacy
13of love, strength, and dedication; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Willie Bowdry was preceded in death by his
15parents; his siblings, Willie "Pete" Tucker, Larry R. Bowdry,
16Katie M. McBride, and Catherine Moore; his mother-in-law,
17Gratha Tolefree; and his other in-laws; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Willie Bowdry is survived by his wife, Virginia
19Tolefree Bowdry; his brother, Gerald (Shelia) Bowdry; his
20children, Marlon Gardner, Davian Giles, Lasondra Carter, and

1Tamikka Elliott; seven grandchildren; his sisters-in-law,
2Alice (Cornelius) Emory, Elizabeth (Johnny) Price, and
3Katherine Tolefree; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,
4and friends; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Willie James Bowdry Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Willie Bowdry as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
