SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 
3congratulate Laddie Hutar, veteran, business owner, and 
4author, on the occasion of his 100th birthday; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Laddie Hutar grew up in Lyons and attended Morton 
6College; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Laddie Hutar served in active duty in the U.S. 
8Navy during World War II and the Korean War; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Laddie Hutar graduated with a degree in 
10engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Harvard 
11Business School; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Laddie Hutar founded the Hutar Growth Management 
13Institute, where he spent more than 50 years helping small 
14businesses reach economic prosperity; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Laddie Hutar maintained his connection to his 
16alma mater and spoke at Morton College's 1987 commencement 
17ceremony; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Laddie Hutar published multiple books providing 
19guidance on small business success, including What Every Small

1Business Needs to Know to Survive and Grow and How to 
2Understand Your Job Better: Hutar Job and Business Terms; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Laddie Hutar is now an active member of the 
4Joseph M. Sesterhenn American Legion Post 166 in Glenview; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Laddie Hutar recently celebrated his 100th 
6birthday on August 2nd, 2024; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Laddie 
9Hutar on the 100th anniversary of his birth, and we commend him 
10for his service to the nation and to the Morton College 
11community; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to Laddie Hutar as a symbol of our esteem and 
14respect.
