SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of James H. "Vandy" Van De Wiele of East 
4Peoria, who passed away on November 13, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Van De Wiele was born to Octaf and Monique 
6(Vande Voorde) Van De Wiele in Moline on November 26, 1935; he 
7served in the U.S. Army; he married Betty J. Willard on July 3, 
81968; and
 
9    WHEREAS, James Van De Wiele worked as a supervisor for the 
10State of Illinois Rehabilitation Services, retiring in 1989; 
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, James Van De Wiele was a member of the Peoria Elks 
13Lodge and Arrowhead Country Club; and
 
14    WHEREAS, James Van De Wiele was extremely proud to have 
15hit a hole-in-one while wintering in Texas at the age of 84; 
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, James Van De Wiele was preceded in death by his 
18parents; his wife; his daughter, Denise Van De Wiele; and his 
19brother, Donald Van De Wiele; and

1    WHEREAS, James Van De Wiele is survived by his daughter, 
2Monique (John) Mitalovich; his son, Jeff (Kristi) Van De 
3Wiele; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one 
4niece; and three nephews; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
7James H. "Vandy" Van De Wiele and extend our sincere 
8condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
9him; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of James Van De Wiele as an expression 
12of our deepest sympathy.
