SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Derrol P. "Tiny" Halberstadt of 
4Urbana, who passed away on December 12, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Derrol Halberstadt, the son of Russel and Irene 
6Halberstadt, was born on November 25, 1925; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Derrol Halberstadt served as a skilled 
8electrician at the University of Illinois for many years; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Derrol Halberstadt was a member of the 
10International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 
11601 for over 75 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Derrol Halberstadt enjoyed fishing, traveling, 
13spending quality time with his family, and creating lasting 
14memories with those he loved; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Derrol Halberstadt was known for his loving, 
16proud, and occasionally ornery nature, and he will be 
17remembered as a spirited and dedicated individual; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Derrol Halberstadt was preceded in death by his 
19wife, Mary (Werts) Halberstadt; his parents; and his brother,

1Vernon Halberstadt; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Derrol Halberstadt is survived by his children, 
3Diana (Sonny) Reynolds, Richard (Julia) Halberstadt, and 
4Pamela (Jeffrey) Cross; six grandchildren; eight 
5great-grandchildren; and his brother, Robert Halberstadt; 
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
9Derrol P. "Tiny" Halberstadt and extend our sincere 
10condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
11him; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to the family of Derrol Halberstadt as an expression 
14of our deepest sympathy.
