SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Christine Lunningham, who passed away 
4on December 12, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Christine Lunningham, the daughter of Cremer and 
6Ludie Lunningham, was born in Lockport on July 28, 1948; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Christine Lunningham later relocated to Joliet, 
8where for over 40 years she worked in the retail industry with 
9the department stores Ames and Menards; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Christine Lunningham worked as a longtime 
11precinct committeeperson for the Democratic National Committee 
12(DNC); she was involved in campaigns, both locally and 
13nationally, attending many DNC events and volunteering for 
14various functions; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Christine Lunningham was a beloved mother, 
16sister, aunt, and friend; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Christine Lunningham was preceded in death by her 
18parents; her sisters, Anne Parker, Dorothy Lunningham, and 
19Signola Drane; and her brothers, Linwood Lunningham and Thomas 
20Christopher Lunningham; and

1    WHEREAS, Christine Lunningham is survived by her daughter, 
2Cynthia Lunningham; her sister, Ludie Jean (Bennie) Williams; 
3her brother, James Lunningham; and numerous nieces, nephews, 
4and cousins; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
7Christine Lunningham and extend our sincere condolences to her 
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Christine Lunningham as an 
12expression of our deepest sympathy.
