| 4 | | "Section 5. The Park District Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 8-60 as follows:

| 6 | | (70 ILCS 1205/8-60 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 8-60. Companion animal rescue. Every park district |
| 8 | | shall allow a person to capture or attempt to capture a |
| 9 | | companion animal, as defined in the Humane Care for Animals |
| 10 | | Act, by hand or by the use of a hand-held device, including, |
| 11 | | but not limited to, a blanket, net, or catch pole, if (i) the |
| 12 | | person discovers the companion animal sick or injured on park |
| 13 | | district property and (ii) an animal control agency or another |
| 14 | | responsible party is unable to capture the companion animal. |
| 15 | | If the companion animal is successfully captured on park |
| 16 | | district property, then the companion animal must be |
