AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1312

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1312, AS AMENDED, 
3with reference to page and line numbers of Senate Amendment 
4No. 2, on page 2, by replacing line 23 with the following:
5"liability.
6    (a) Any person may bring a civil action against any"; and
 
7on page 3, immediately below line 5, by inserting the 
8following:
9    "(b) Qualified immunity is a defense to liability under 
10this Act."; and
 
11on page 16, line 20, by replacing "defense" with "defense, 
12including any existing qualified immunity defense,"; and
 
13on page 16, by replacing lines 22 through 25 with the 
14following:
15"any Illinois court system personnel acting lawfully."; and

1on page 17, by replacing lines 18 through 22 with the 
2following:
3    ""Law enforcement agent" means an agent of federal, State, 
4or local law enforcement authorized with the power to arrest

7on page 25, by replacing lines 3 and 4 with the following:
8"or detain individuals, or manage the custody of detained 
9individuals, for civil"; and
 
10on page 32, by replacing lines 16 and 17 with the following:
11"or detain individuals, or manage the custody of detained 
12individuals, for civil".
