AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1441 

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1441 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Chicago Park District Act is amended by 
5adding Section 16a-6 as follows:
 
6    (70 ILCS 1505/16a-6 new)
7    Sec. 16a-6. Chicago lakefront lifeguard minimum age.
8    (a) Except as provided in subsection (b), the Chicago Park 
9District shall not employ a person who is under the age of 19 
10to serve as a lifeguard at a beach on the Chicago lakefront.
11    (b) If a lifeguard candidate participates in the Junior 
12Lifeguard Program hosted by the Chicago Park District, then 
13the candidate shall be permitted to serve as a lifeguard 
14regardless of the candidate's age.
15    (c) The Chicago Park District must provide an additional 
1630 hours of open-water training before a new hire or current

1employee lifeguard may serve as a lifeguard at a beach on the 
2Chicago lakefront.
 
3    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January 
41, 2026.".
