| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Township Code is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Section 85-14 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (60 ILCS 1/85-14) |
| 7 | | Sec. 85-14. Nondiscriminatory use of township funds. |
| 8 | | (a) As used in this Section, "national origin" means the |
| 9 | | place in which a person or one of the person's ancestors was |
| 10 | | born. |
| 11 | | (b) A township official may not prohibit an organization |
| 12 | | from receiving township funds based upon the perceived |
| 13 | | citizenship or immigration status of the person who would |
| 14 | | receive those funds from the organization. |
| 15 | | (c) A township official may not prohibit an organization |
| 16 | | from receiving township funds based upon the national origin |
| 17 | | of the person who would receive those funds from the |
| 18 | | organization. |
