AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1857 

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1857 on page 8, by 
3replacing lines 3 through 12 with the following:
 
4    "(215 ILCS 5/356z.80 new)
5    Sec. 356z.80. Coverage for disposable incontinence 
6supplies.
7    (a) As used in this Section:
8    "Disability" means a condition characterized by temporary, 
9permanent, partial, or complete impairment of physical, 
10mental, or physiological function.
11    "Disposable incontinence supplies" means adult diapers, 
12protective underwear, and disposable underpads. 
13    (b) A group or individual policy of accident and health 
14insurance or a managed care plan that is amended, delivered, 
15issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2027 shall provide 
16coverage for medically necessary disposable incontinence 
17supplies for any person with a disability.

1    (c) To qualify for coverage under this Section, an 
2individual must have:
3        (1) a documented medical diagnosis confirming 
4    incontinence; and
5        (2) a signed prescription from a physician specifying 
6    the type and quantity of supplies needed.".
