| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 73 as follows:

| 6 | | (5 ILCS 490/73 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 73. Gene "Coach Ping" Pingatore Day. October 25 of |
| 8 | | each year is designated as the Gene "Coach Ping" Pingatore |
| 9 | | Day, to be observed throughout the State as a day to honor the |
| 10 | | athletic accomplishments and to reflect on the legacy of Gene |
| 11 | | "Coach Ping" Pingatore.

| 12 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 13 | | becoming law. |
