AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2081 

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2081 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The State Fire Marshal Act is amended by 
5adding Section 2.9 as follows:
 
6    (20 ILCS 2905/2.9 new)
7    Sec. 2.9. PFAS Replacement Grant Program.
8    (a) The Office shall establish and administer a PFAS 
9Replacement Grant Program to award grants to fire departments, 
10fire protections districts, and other similar volunteer, 
11non-profit fire protection services, for the replacement of 
12any firefighting equipment, emergency equipment, and clothing 
13that contain per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
14    (b) As used in this Section, "firefighting equipment, 
15emergency equipment, and clothing" includes, without 
16limitation, turnout gear, personal protective equipment,

1clothing, tools, and accessories, as determined by the State 
2Fire Marshal.
3    (c) The Office shall adopt rules necessary to determine 
4the awarding of grants based upon financial and equipment 
5needs and any other factors determined to be appropriate by 
6the State Fire Marshal. The Office shall adopt any rules 
7necessary for the implementation and administration of this 
8Section.".
