| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2337 on page 10, by |
| 3 | | replacing lines 7 through 17 with the following: |
| 4 | | "(g-32) If a mediation agreement, resolution agreement, or |
| 5 | | settlement agreement includes, as a condition of settlement, |
| 6 | | that a parent, a student (if at least 18 years of age or |
| 7 | | emancipated), the legal guardian of a student, or the |
| 8 | | designated representative of a student who is at least 18 |
| 9 | | years of age prospectively waive a legal right or claim, the |
| 10 | | prospective waiver (i) must be limited to the provision of a |
| 11 | | free appropriate public education (FAPE) for the student who |
| 12 | | is the subject of the mediation, resolution meeting, or |
| 13 | | settlement negotiations and (ii) must be limited in scope and |
| 14 | | duration and narrowly tailored to the nature and intent of the |
| 15 | | settlement.". |
