| 1 | | (1) to distribute election documents, including, but |
| 2 | | not limited to, petition packets; |
| 3 | | (2) to serve as a location for individuals to file |
| 4 | | statements of candidacy, nominating papers, petitions for |
| 5 | | nomination, objections to nominating papers, and |
| 6 | | certificates of withdrawal of candidacy; and |
| 7 | | (3) to hear and pass on any objections to the |
| 8 | | nominations of candidates and questions of public policy |
| 9 | | that would otherwise be heard by the municipal officers |
| 10 | | electoral board, the township officers electoral board, or |
| 11 | | the education officers electoral board, as described in |
| 12 | | Section 10-9 of the Election Code. |
| 13 | | (b) On or before December 31, 2036, the County Clerk of |
| 14 | | Lake County, in collaboration with the State Board of |
| 15 | | Elections, shall submit a report to the General Assembly. The |
| 16 | | report shall include an analysis of the effectiveness of the |
| 17 | | Pilot Program and any recommendations, including whether |
| 18 | | similar policies should be adopted statewide. |
| 19 | | (c) The State Board of Elections may adopt any rules |
| 20 | | necessary to assist the County Clerk of Lake County in |
| 21 | | implementing this Section. |
| 22 | | (d) This Section is repealed on January 1, 2037. |
| 23 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 24 | | becoming law.". |
