| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2836 on page 1, by |
| 3 | | replacing lines 8 through 16 with the following: |
| 4 | | "(a) Beginning with the 2027 registration year, the |
| 5 | | Secretary of State, upon receipt of all applicable fees and |
| 6 | | applications made in the form prescribed by the Secretary, may |
| 7 | | issue special registration plates designated as Air Medal |
| 8 | | plates to residents who have been awarded the Air Medal by the |
| 9 | | United States Armed Forces. The special plates issued under |
| 10 | | this Section shall be affixed only to passenger vehicles of |
| 11 | | the first division, motorcycles, autocycles, and motor |
| 12 | | vehicles of the second division weighing not more than 8,000 |
| 13 | | pounds. Plates under this Section shall expire according to |
| 14 | | the multi-year procedure established by Section 3-414.1 of |
| 15 | | this Code.". |
