Provides that the Department of Public Health shall, in consultation with appropriate agencies and organizations, establish a public awareness campaign to assist the public in understanding the harm of abusing fentanyl, with certain requirements. |

| 1 | | AN ACT concerning State government.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and |
| 5 | | Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
| 6 | | amended by adding Section 2310-735 as follows:

| 7 | | (20 ILCS 2310/2310-735 new) |
| 8 | | Sec. 2310-735. Fentanyl Awareness Campaign. The Department |
| 9 | | shall, in consultation with appropriate agencies and |
| 10 | | organizations, establish a public awareness campaign to assist |
| 11 | | the public in understanding the harm of abusing fentanyl. As |
| 12 | | part of the campaign, the Department shall: |
| 13 | | (1) establish a public awareness campaign on the harm |
| 14 | | of abusing fentanyl and disseminate information via |
| 15 | | brochures and the Department's website; and |
| 16 | | (2) provide reference materials concerning and contact |
| 17 | | information for relevant drug addiction treatment |
| 18 | | programs. |
