Provides that, subject to appropriation, the State Board of Education shall establish and administer a grant program to reimburse school districts for providing stipends for classroom Career and Technical Education teachers who participate in externships with a manufacturing company in this State. Provides for rulemaking. Effective July 1, 2026. |

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 | | 2-3.206 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (105 ILCS 5/2-3.206 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 2-3.206. Teacher externship stipend. Subject to |
| 8 | | appropriation, the State Board of Education shall establish |
| 9 | | and administer a grant program to reimburse school districts |
| 10 | | for providing stipends for classroom Career and Technical |
| 11 | | Education teachers who participate in externships with a |
| 12 | | manufacturing company in this State. The State Board shall |
| 13 | | adopt rules to implement this Section.
