AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3252 

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3252 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Section 
527-23.14 as follows:
 
6    (105 ILCS 5/27-23.14)
7    Sec. 27-23.14. Workplace experience preparation course. A 
8school district that maintains any of grades 9 through 12 and 
9offers workplace experience courses, including 
10school-facilitated employment or internships, shall provide 
11the following to participating students: may include in its 
12high school curriculum a unit of 
13        (1) instruction on workplace preparation that covers 
14    legal protections in the workplace, including 
15    discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, 
16    sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin,

1    disability, or status as a protected veteran; and 
2        (2) instruction on legal protections protection 
3    against sexual harassment and racial and other forms of 
4    discrimination, including, but not limited to, disparities 
5    in pay, lack of institutional support or resources, and 
6    exclusion from executive or leadership positions and other 
7    protections for employees. 
8    A school board may determine the minimum amount of 
9instruction time that qualifies as a unit of instruction under 
10this Section.
