SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 


    Appropriates $340,000 from the General Revenue Fund to the State Board of Education to address shortages of school psychologists in this State through specified methods. Effective July 1, 2025.

1    AN ACT concerning appropriations.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The sum of $340,000, or so much of that sum as
5may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue
6Fund to the State Board of Education to address shortages of
7school psychologists in this State by hiring or contracting
8for a school psychology liaison within the State Board of
9Education, providing a grant to fund a program within the
10Illinois School Psychology Internship Consortium to recruit
11and retain doctoral interns in faculty positions within public
12universities, and funding a school psychologist retention
13program with a group consultation model.
 
14    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1,
152025.
